Born and raised in Greenfield, California Miguel was brought up by two immigrant parents from Mexico.He developed an interest in film early in life, making short films on his mother’s digital camcorder and editing them on her desktop. His taste in movies was largely shaped by the bootleg DVDs his father would bring home.He studied and continued to develop his craft at the University of California, Santa Cruz. After graduation, he launched his solo production company, Calaveras Productions.His work explores a feeling he’s internalized all his life; existing in spaces where you don’t believe you belong but desperately want to be part of.
